Welcome to Chapter 6! This chapter is going to be a little different. I won’t explain yet because I want to see what you think of it as it unfolds.
In other news, I got all the edits back from Jeremy Barlow and got the whole book edited now. I am so happy with how he has strengthened the story of reMIND with his writing. In fact, I’m going to have to replace some of the pages in the last chapter because they are quite a bit better now. I’ll let you know when I replace something so you can go and reread it. :)
This is the last week that I can make changes to reMIND before it begins the proofing process at the printer. I’m going to be sending out a PDF of the entire book to a few friends to get a bunch of final eyes doing a proofread. This is it! The final stretch.
Talk soon,
Jason

oooooooh yeeeeeah, its going down. I wonder what the difference is,mayb uv got so much “story” to fit in that there are more panels and less “spread” designed large images
well, that’s a cheery chapter heading…
I’m really looking forward to seeing where this story goes
Good stuff, Jason. Looking forward to this chapter. Looking forward to getting volume 2 in print. Kinda already wondering what you’re up to for your next project. Good stuff… Yup!
Hey Wouter,
Yeah, I’m planning on finishing my “How-to” book next which is mostly written. Then after that’s over I have a new Graphic novel I’m excited to start. :)
I look forward to seeing how the story will reflect the chapter’s title. I’m also looking forward to buying my copy of volume 2!
(What’s more, I misremembered the total number of chapters as being 6, not 7, so there’s more of the story left than I thought :D )
Every now and then I make a comment and it doesn’t show up. I wonder if they get blocked for inspection somewhere. *shrug*
I love how we’ve jumped back to continue immediately after chapter 4 on the other side of the vent. All sorts of possibilities for how this chapter might be different. Maybe Momma rat down here is the invisible in disguise (explaining why there’s two), maybe we’ll just get a chapter of vents and darkness with views in some rooms and overheard conversations of different people which reveals a good deal of plot points.
The title is ominous though. The Anemone dies? Or is somebody already dead…
I’m super stoked to get the finished volumes in hand. I’m trying NOT to read the story here until the end so I can enjoy it in print, but I can’t help myself… heh heh.
So happy this has been so successful for you, J. Keep up the great work.
hey great job with the novel, I love it. But i just noticed the difference in how the vent grill is screwed on in the last page in chapter 4 ( 4 screw holes) and this first page of chapter 6 page (only 2 screw holes).
Good catch! It’s funny how I don’t notice stuff like that. In this case, this chapter was started way back when I was working on Volume 1. So there was literally about 3 years between drawing this vent and the one in the last page in Chapter 4. You would think that I would have checked before drawing it again right? haha
Hopefully I can get that fixed before I goto print. :)
Which one do you like best? and I’ll make the change. :)
I like either one, but I guess just to make things easier
to work with negative space, the 4 holes would
be faster to make. Just by deleting spaces on
the artwork with a selection tool. No use taking
away those detailed screws you did in chapter 4.
Good call. I changed the art but it wont be updated here for a while.
Finally at Chapter 6.
You’ve come a long way friend, are you sure it’s going to end at a single one’s death? A whole universe worth is right under your nose… or do you have a plan?
