Even though I’ve been a bit quiet online these days, it’s not to say nothing is happening. On the contrary I worked on a secret project until 1 AM each night for the last 8 days. I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag yet but I will say that… It’s probably the script for my next graphic novel after I finish reMIND Vol. 2! hehe. But don’t worry, I’m still planning on posting new pages soon but a small distraction was well needed for me to recharge my reMIND batteries. In some ways, I need to just pull the trigger and start posting pages again to put the fire back under my seat. I am still planning on starting to post in February sometime. Probably the end of February.
And just so you know here are a few more comic shops that started carrying reMIND. If you live close to one of these then please go bother them for a copy so they will order more! :)

Also, I have to give a shout out to Patrick Bower of:
CHALLENGERS Comics
1845 N Western Ave 2R
Chicago, IL 60647
773.278.0155
who was actually the first comic shop to carry my book. Patrick has been super helpful in every aspect of selling reMIND and at the end of last year he send me an email saying:
“reMIND ranked #98 on our 2011 Sold Graphic Novels List.To give you a little perspective on this list, it’s for ALL Graphic Novels sold in 2011, not just books released this year. And there are a total of 3453 places on this list. reMIND was #98.”
All I gotta say is that it takes a good comic shop to move that many copies of reMIND and from what I hear, Patrick has one of the best comic shops around. I can’t wait to take a road trip to Chicago someday and check it out for myself. Thanks again Patrick!

Also, Chapters 1, 2 and 3 are all available now on Graphicly.com. You can download them all here: http://graphicly.com/coffee-table-comics. Remember that you can switch each page to sketch mode to see what the rough page layout looked like. Here is a sample of one of the pages finished vs. rough layouts.

hey jason! i’m excited to see volume 2 get started and hear more about this up and coming project of yours.
in honor of the next volume’s online debut, i finally ordered a copy of remind volume 1 on amazon today! thanks for doing this, it truly is inspiring to those of us looking to get into the business. :)
Hey Johnny, Thanks for ordering a copy of reMIND on Amazon! I can’t wait to hear what you think of the book.
I’m sure my secret project won’t be secret for much longer. I just want to make sure I have something ready to go when reMIND is finished and one thing that works well for me when developing a story is to write it and then put it down for 6 months or more until it’s completely out of my mind. Then when I pick it up and read it again I can see all the plot holes and problems and even think up new ways to make it better.
Is there any chance of these showing up in the UK at some point in the nearish future? I’ve been wanting to get a copy for ages but with comics I usually prefer trying to get them from a brick&mortar store even if it costs a bit more. Saying that, for something self-published, which supports the artist better?
Excited to see what’s gonna come next, in any case. :)
Looking forwrad to Volume 2 and the new project. I am a fan of the saying: “A change is as good as a rest.” I frequently hop between projects for similar reasons as those you’ve outlined. Glad to know that more reMind is heading this way.
I can’t wait for volume 2! Your art and coloring is such a fresh breath in the graphic novel world. I’m sure everyone is ready for new pages.
Per your older post; I will be posting a link to your blog on Friday talking about your site on my blog. I already have volume 1, but am always happy to spread good a book.
Dude, do you sleep at all working all nights ans stuff? :D And why the next chapters are elsewhere and not on this site?
Oh wait, I thought they were the NEW three chapters :D NM then and keep up. (And seriously, we can wait a few more days, you should sleep too once in a while.)
Yeah, sleep is good. Last night it hit me hard and after putting my kids to bed I laid on the couch and instantly passed out. It’s was 8 PM. My wife woke me up about 15 minutes later and I couldn’t figure out where I was for about a minute. So after that, I worked for a little while and went to bed early. haha.
Hi Jason, a couple things:
First, between Making Comics and this blog, you have done a great service for us trying to get things done around life. So thank you.
Second, thanks to Making Comics, I finally bought reMIND at Challengers. Who have not only been supportive of the book, but have kept in in prime real estate in the store so when I went for it, it was super easy to find. Challengers is a fantastic store and reMIND is a fantastic book. I hope you can make it to Chicago someday soon so I can shake your hand and thank you in person.
Keep up the awesome work!
