As you can see the pin-ups are still going strong. I have 26 total submissions meaning we have 2 more weeks to go before they are all up. So to clarify, reMIND, chapter 3 will start back up on the 20th of September. In fact I might post a few spreads that first week to make up for all the time I’ve made you wait.
I know it’s a longer break than I originally planned but it couldn’t have come at a better time. See, I had to take a freelance job last week because our finances got shot down like a clay pigeon at the Winter Olympics. All week I need to work on this side project at nights and on weekends so I can pull in some extra money. The day job’s been especially challenging lately because I’m learning to do so much color theory that it’s making my head spin. Besides all the drama, things are going pretty amazingly good.
If you are a keen observer you might of noticed a new “Shop” tab on the top right of my site. Yep, I’m trying to get a store running to avoid anymore screw-ups with my Paypal buttons that I can’t seem to ever get working right. I’ve never heard of Storenvy.com before but, WOW, it’s soooo easy to set up and it takes care of everything I want in a store. So far I’m extremely satisfied with Storenvy.com but the proof will be in how it handles my transactions so we will just have to wait and see how it goes down. I’m sure I’ll write a post all about it if I end up very pleased.
If you are brave enough to click on my shop tab you will see a bunch of test shirts that aren’t officially ready yet and all the pictures are just temporary until I get the updated products to photograph. The Lizard Man Hoodie is pretty close. The image you see in the store is a test shirt to see how bright the ink looks. I’ve decided to make it a halftone and slightly grey so that it’s not so bright and in your face like the prototype. But overall I’m pretty excited about it and can’t wait to see how many of you who said you would buy one actually follow through. haha! About 70 people voted that they would buy the hoodie but I have trouble believing it.
Anyway, last week I said I was trying to get enough votes at TWC to get reMIND in the top 25 and within a day I was at number 14! You guys are rock stars! Since then I’ve gone down to 22 but it’s still amazing!
Thanks again for all your support and feedback. More pin-up’s all week!

Jason, please tell me you'll make the hoodie available in 3x or 4x for us bigger people.
I will now! I was planning on making it up to XXL but I can make some XXXL too. Will that be okay?
Triple X or bigger here, thanks. For us big-boned, unlean, robust-framed, rubicund, plump fatsos.
3X are being made as we speak. I didn’t order any 4X though. Next time I’ll make sure to make some.
Good luck with getting your merchandise out there. I'm selling prints and posters through my personal DA account – though I've debated trying out Zazzle or CafePress.
I can't say I've heard of Storenvy – is it any good for selling things?
Well, here's the main difference. CafePress is a print on demand type outfit. They fulfill the orders when they come in and charge you lots of money to handle everything. It's easy because you don't have to do much but you also don't get much money out of it. I don't know their exact prices but all the POD companies work similar in pricing. So you might get $2 from a shirt that sells for $22. They print it and ship it to your customer and deal with all the communication and returns.
Stroenvy is more or less a regular merchant shopping cart that a small business would use. They don't do print on demand or ship your orders. It's up to you to make your products, find a printer to print shirts, store them and take the orders as well as ship to your customers but you end up with most of the money. If you can get shirts made for $5.00 each then sell them for $22 you have a $17.00 profit verse $2 with the POD.
You have to have more money up front to run a regular store like this though. Where as a POD company takes next to nothing to get your store filled with merchandise. If you sell 5 shirts a year then the POD is best. If you are planning on selling 100 a year then it's smarter to not use POD so you can actually make money from your hard work.
That's my two cents anyway.
Oh yeah, DeviantArt is POD too. They take a huge cut out of your profits. If you were to make your own prints at a local printing shop and sell and ship them yourself, it would be the other way around. You would be making 80% of the money instead of the printer.
I don't mind all the pin-ups :) It's really great to see how other people take a spin on reMIND.
