Starting today is a pin-up contest for reMIND! The winner will be printed and credited in the reMIND book.
Some amazing artists are lined up to draw a few pin-up’s of Victuals and Sonja for the printed book, but I plan on having some extra pages to fill, sOOOOoooo, I’m launching a pin-up contest. Anyone can enter a drawing to get a chance at seeing it in the printed book. Plus, every pinup that I get will be added to the pin-up gallery on this site (that doesn’t exist yet). Please send a banner so I can link back to you too.
Here are some of the specifics for entering:
- The deadline in AUGUST 29th
- Page Dimensions are 7″ x 10.5″ at 300 dpi. Get template here!
- Please only send .jpg files. If you are chosen for the book I’ll request a full size .psd file later.
- Full color or Black and White (but your chances at print will be better with color)
- Digital or traditional as long as it’s TOTALLY RAD!
- It can be Victuals, Victuals in Robo-suit, Sonja, Lizard-man, or any of the character from reMIND. It could be ALL the characters too!
- Send a banner to your site along with your art so I can link back to you.
- Please send your pin-up to Jason@reMINDblog.com with PIN-UP SUBMISSION as the header.
- Must be rated PG… so I can look at it without asking my parents.
- Please send your pin-up early if you can (the next 2 weeks) so I can start posting them here between Chapters 2 and 3 of reMIND.
I might have a poll to narrow it down, but my wife and I will decide the winner to be printed in the book. I’m sure I’m missing something so leave a comment with any questions you have. Like everything else, this is a form of promotion for me and for you so please send this to anyone who might be interested in submitting. Remember, Sam Kieth is doing a pin-up for reMIND too. This is your chance to get your art featured next to his.
It's on. I'd love to do a pin-up! Me and Sam Keith go waaaaay during the Comico days. Haven't talked to him in yeeears. Wonder if he remembers his first work: "Max the Hare?" Wonder if he even remembers me?….LOL
AWesome! I'll totally try to do a pin-up. Already got an idea that would look rad. i mean you already have this certain cartoonish style with remind so is it okay to do a realistic drawing of the characters? Like victuals as an actual cat XD
Totally! Do it however you want. Different styles are really cool to see. I'm not looking for anyone to draw it the same way I draw. I've seen enough of my art, I wanna see others take on my characters. That's the fun part.
I want to know a deadline date. Since precise deadlines are more motivating for me. >_>
I'll keep accepting submissions all month (August). In fact, I'll update the post to say that too. So August 29th is the deadline.
Oh, man! I’d loved to take a shot on this contest. But I’m going on vacation for three weeks – no chance to meet the deadline. I wish luck to all the contesters!
There’s no real deadline yet. I just need some to put between the two chapters but you can totally send me something whenever you get one finished if you still want to. I’d love to see your take on this Daniel!

Awesome contest idea. I stumbled upon your site a few weeks ago and I love the story thus far. Not to mention the coloring tutorials; they’re helpful for an artist (such as myself) who works primarily in black and white see how those who dabble in color do it.
Ooh, this sounds like fun. Who can say no to drawing cats in robot suits?
I just got all my character designs out of the way this week and look forward to trying something out for this. This would be an awesome book to have art in, and being in a group including Sam Kieth could also be considered a plus.
what dimensions do you need for a banner?
Hmmmm. Good question. You could send a 728×90 banner which I’ll put under your pin-up.
But If you can send a 125×125 badge, that would be helpful too because I can then easily add it to my links page later on.
